Description

Three handsome male pedigree working cocker pups for sale; one golden, two black, ready for collection from the Northants/Warwickshire border, 14th December onwards.

Co-efficient inbreeding score only 12.9% and DNA clear.

They have been docked and their dew claws have been removed, therefore they are only for sale to new owners who will work them and not just keep them as a family pet.

They live in our home and are used to the sounds of household appliances, family life and being handled by adults and children. They will be vaccinated, wormed and microchipped before collection and will be sold with Kennel Club pedigree certificate, microchipping, docking and dew claws certificate, complimentary puppy pack and five weeks Kennel Club pet insurance.

We own both parents who work enthusiastically at local shoots and can be viewed together with the litter at our home. We are not a puppy farm or professional breeders; this is our first litter.

We wanted to breed from our dog, NOTJUSTANY TEMPTING, because he has a great pedigree and an excellent nose for a blind retrieve and we didn't want to lose that DNA. He loves nothing more than working tirelessly, searching fields, hedgerows and ditches, in addition to being a loving, kind and patient family pet. We bought TEOMABAY IRIS OF THE STORM to breed with him because she has an excellent pedigree and their predicted inbreeding score was less than 13%; she is also a loving family pet who is easy to train and quick to learn. Her grandparents were both Field Trial Champions. Both parents are eye and DNA clear.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
