For photos of previous puppies please visit our website  https://www.heathcotecockerspaniels.co.uk/

Very well socialized with adults, kids,  dogs small and big. Forward and very confident puppies. Typical working cocker spaniels very cleaver and very  switched on. Used to all household noises tv,hoover etc. We are also in the middle of building an extension so the puppies are used to all different noises.

Inbreeding coefficient for this litter is 0.3 % which is very low. Breed average by kennel club standards is 10.4%. Puppies are hereditary clear PRA PRCD,FN & AMS  and this is stated on the kennel club website.

We own mum and she can be seen. Mum is a family pet but she is very switched on. Loves  fetching (favourite toy is frisby) and always looking to please you. Dad belongs to a friend of mine and he is fully working dog on the shoots.

We choose Monty as the dad of this litter to match mums energy, temperament, personality and character.

Both parents are very friendly dogs and have excellent temperaments.

PLEASE NOTE THE PUPPIES ARE NOT DOCKED AND HAVE A FULL TAIL.

Puppies will come with

Kc Reg Papers,

First injection,

Fully wormed from the age of 2 weeks old.

Fully vet checked,

Blanket with mums and siblings smell to help them settle in their new homes.

Food that they are used to eat here.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
