Description

KC registered Working Cocker Pups

2 big and healthy dog pups for sale. They’re a small litter of 3 so little competition for milk.

The dam is our family pet. She’s petit, very handsome and very intelligent. Her pedigree is excellent, with FTC’s in her heritage. 5 gen KC pedigree can be seen on request. She is health tested and eye tested. She is 3 years old. She’s very affectionate, is perfectly suited to family life and is gentle - we have a toddler who she’s so patient with. She has never shown any aggression towards anyone and I’m sure her pups will be the same. They’ll leave a loving household with lots of garden space, people around and will be well socialised.

The sire is another very attractive chocolate cocker - pictures can be provided - based in Glasgow. He’s worked and has a similarly strong pedigree with multiple FTC’s. He is also health tested.

Pups will leave with everything you’d hope for - vaccines, wormed, 5 week KC insurance, a supply of food to help with transition, etc.

Viewing is mandatory, to ensure they’re going to a suitable home.

Happy to answer any questions or provide more pictures/videos.

Deposit of £300 would secure a pup.

They will be ready to leave after Tuesday 17th June.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
