Description

Our beautiful working Cocker Spaniel Kora (Clearmeadow Kora) has had a stunning litter of puppies with the lovely young dog Rogue (Kensesqui Garter)!

These are some exceptional young puppies which you would not want to miss out on!

Kora has just completed her first season picking up with me and has proven to be a very loyal, easy little girl to have by my side all day. She is a happy girl who naturally follows without the need for a lead, making her the easiest of companions to take everywhere. Kora is a patient, quiet and gentle dog with a lovely temperament, and this is her first litter. She has proved to be a wonderful mother, completely content with her lovely new brood, and we are very excited to watch these puppies grow and develop. MOTHER – DNA TESTED CLEAR: AMS, DM, EIC, FN, GLYCOGEN DEFICIENCY, PP, PRCD

Rogue is a friend’s young dog who has been out regularly on shoot days, both picking up and beating. He is a small, compact dog very similar in frame to Kora, and together we expect these puppies to be smaller type spaniels — light, agile and athletic. He has a lovely demeanour, is loyal and driven, and has a fantastic nose, often finding birds that other dogs miss. He comes from a strong breeding line of ours, going back to our black stud dog Jack (FT CH Glenugie’s Capella), producing balanced and highly trainable offspring. FATHER – HEREDITARY DNA CLEAR, BVA/KC/ISDS EYES CLEAR, PRA GRADE: 0.

We are hoping that, combining Kora and Rogue’s outstanding traits, these puppies will make excellent, gentle and loving companions as well as biddable, playful and active working dogs. They will be full of character and fit straight into your family like they have always been there!

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
