Description
Introducing Floss's working cocker spaniel beautiful babies! KC Registered legally docked tails, fully health tested sire and dam. Four boys available.
This is Floss's second litter. She's a much adored family pet who was a joy to train as a pup - quick to learn and eager to please. She's my shadow when we're working in the garden; my husband used to joke that she's my 'daemon' (Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials!). She's also a fabulous companion for my husband when trail running on the coast path - safely and trustworthily off lead.
We first bred from Floss as we wanted another pup ourselves and wanted to repeat Floss's characteristics. We totally adored the pup we kept- he was again incredibly easy to train, a character who made us laugh every day and extremely fond of his cuddles and sofa time! He loved human contact and would lie on my feet whilst i was ironing or washing up! Tragically, we lost him to poisoning, which obviously hit us all extremely hard. Floss was affected by the trauma and loss for quite a while. When she eventually came into season again we decided to breed again and it's now a delight to watch her loving being a mum again and the pups' presence is bringing joy to our family.
The pups' sire is Countryways Sage - see. He is an incredibly handsome black and tan dog with the characteristics we were looking for in a stud dog - impeccable temperament and loyalty. Sage is described as follows by his owner:
'Sage is my stunning black and tan boy and he is my shadow following me everywhere. He is an incredibly affectionate and loyal dog, easy to train and hunts with style and determination through even the thickest cover. Sage has an impeccable character and gets on with every dog he meets. He is just as happy walking calmly off the lead as he is working hard on a shoot day. With an incredible nose, he is able to retrieve birds that many other dogs miss. He has proven to be a fantastic stud dog, producing balanced and highly trainable offspring'.
We're hoping that Floss and Sage's offspring will inherit their parents biddable, easy to train nature and loyalty. We're sure that they will be a joy to own, whether as family pets or working dogs. They're being raised in our kitchen and so will be well socialised and used to noise and kids!
Four dogs available. They will have had their first vaccinations, be health checked, be microchipped and KC registered. Their tails have been legally docked by a vet so they'll have all necessary paperwork.
Both parents are fully health tested and full details of this can be provided on request.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs
Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.
- Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
- Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
-
Verify all paperwork:
- Kennel Club (KC) registration number
- Date of birth
- Health screening results
-
Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
- Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
- Can I see where they were bred and raised?
- How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
- Was the birth natural or via C-section?
- Are there any known health issues?
- Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
- Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
- If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
- Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
- Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
- Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
- You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
- Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
- Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
- Is the whelping pen clean?
- Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
- The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
- Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
- Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
- Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
