Thank you for the interest in this litter. The red dog puppy advertised has now found his home, but I am happy to take sensible enquiries from people looking for a well-bred working Cocker Spaniel puppy from future litters.
I breed first and foremost for my own use, with the aim of keeping pups back to train and run myself. Any puppies that become available are from litters planned around working ability, trainability, temperament, health and proven trialling lines.
This litter was by FTCh Tarncrags Razzamataz out of Phar Lap of Arctaurid FTAW.
He is from a carefully planned litter by FTCh Tarncrags Razzamataz out of Phar Lap of Arctaurid FTAW, bred for working ability, trainability, temperament and health. I breed this litter to keep pups on for myself for trailing.
He is a lovely, confident, well-handled puppy with a kind nature and a nice outlook. He should suit a working, picking-up, beating, gundog training, trialling or active country home.
Based in North Yorkshire, although I may be able to help with getting him further south by arrangement.
Sire: FTCh Tarncrags Razzamataz, “Taz”
The sire is FTCh Tarncrags Razzamataz, a red Field Trial Champion working Cocker Spaniel.
Taz was 4th at the 2026 Cocker Spaniel Championship and is a proven, high-achieving trial dog. He has the kind of qualities I wanted to bring into this litter: pace, style, natural ability, good drive, and a strong workmanlike attitude.
I used him because I wanted a dog with proper trialling credentials, a good temperament, and proven working ability. He is a compact, athletic and powerful dog with a strong record behind him.

The dam is Phar Lap of Arctaurid FTAW, my own red working Cocker Spaniel bitch.
Newt is by FTCh Poolgreen Griffin out of Mallowdale Rhea, giving this litter strong working and trialling blood on both sides.
She is a very trainable, honest and intelligent bitch. She is quick to learn, keen to work and has a very natural attitude. She is the sort of spaniel that wants to work with you, rather than just for herself, which is exactly the type I like to train and keep.
Newt gained 2nd in a novice Cocker trial on only her second trial, showing good natural ability and trainability early in her trialling career. She remains part of my own team and I plan to push on with running her this coming season.
She has a lovely temperament around the kennel and has been a very straightforward bitch to have, train and work with. She is one I think highly of, which is why I am keeping from this litter myself.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs
Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.
- Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
- Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.

- Kennel Club (KC) registration number
- Date of birth
- Health screening results

Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
- Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
- Can I see where they were bred and raised?
- How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
- Was the birth natural or via C-section?
- Are there any known health issues?
- Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
- Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
- If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
- Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
- Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
- Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
- You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
- Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
- Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
- Is the whelping pen clean?
- Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
- The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
- Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
- Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
- Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
