GWP x Lab Puppies

County / Town: Shropshire

Description

Strong litter of 8 pups, 1 male left available. Wire coated. Confident and happy puppy that we intended to retain, but time constraints do not allow!

Mother is a trained Bat Carcass Detection Dog and Father is a Gundog bred, trained and worked by the Head Keeper on Three Valleys Shoot, Mid Wales.

Both parents are fully health tested, eyes, heart testing, DNA’s, Hips & Elbows. Both are KC registered. Full details available.

Sally is a fabulous example of a GWP. Versatile, trainable, social and driven. She is a hard hunting, bright dog with that typical GWP comedic attitude to life. She has represented her breed at Discover Dogs, performed at public shows and is comfortable in all environments. She has been an attentive mum and has raised the litter well. Her parents are both working Gun dogs.

Keale is a gentle lad, loyal and loving, but he is a Ferrari on the field. Jumps like a stag and works all day. He has sired several litters, his line have gone on to work, be trained as guide dogs, assistance dogs and some are just starting medical detection training.

These puppies will have a mixture of rough and smooth coats, all are black with varying white markings.

They are docked certificates available and will be chipped and vaccinated prior to collection. They will also be temperamentally assessed and raised using a host of socialisation protocols to ensure they are resilient and ready for the big bad world! They have been individually crated, taken to our shoot and socialised with other dogs and people and have heard gun shot from the truck.

We are looking for working homes for these puppies, GWP’s are not for the faint hearted or novice dog owner. They are going to be wilful, demanding and testing. They will also be hugely rewarding, capable and totally awesome working dogs, ideal for detection work, Gundog/Deer work or dog sport.

They will weigh around 30kg once fully grown.

All puppies come with food, insurance, a bag of goodies, access to an online training course and additional training and behaviour support.

We are licensed, Five Star breeders, trainers and behaviourist’s and this litter will be raised with professionalism and attention to detail.

Both parents are here to meet, as are various other family members on the Lab side of the family.

If you are looking for your next working partner, have a sense of humour and a the ability to be calm when your dog is being a twat, then give us a call!

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
