Lovely Working Retriver Puppies

County / Town: Hampshire

Description

ONLY BOYS AVAILABLE

On the 17th of March Maple whelped her 2nd litter and she is a fantastic attentive mum. All are healthy and thriving.

Maple is my 3rd generation of golden girl and both her mum and gran are here and will socialise with the puppies.

Maple is very loving and quick to learn, she is always ready for a good run around as much as an evening in-front of the fire. She does some beating/ picking up through the season and is very much part of our family. She has a dark golden coat.

The sire is Kenynten Treacle Toffee at Heatherbound. He has a lovely temperament and is also a super working dog. He has also got a very dark golden coat.

Puppy’s will have a lovely golden coat and I expect them to all be great working/pet dogs for any home.

Pups will be ready for viewings from the Easter weekend and ready for their new homes from the middle of May. A deposit is required and only taken after you've viewed and chosen a puppy.

I send regular pupdates/pictures so you can see them grow.

Pups will be wormed at 3, 5 and 7 weeks, vet checked when microchipped and had their 1st vaccine. They will be Kennel Club registered and will come with a 5 generation pedigree.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
