Top quality home reared puppies

County / Town: Berkshire

Description

Last dog & bitch HWV puppies available from this super first & last litter of eight dual purpose HWV pups, now ready for their new homes. They're of good type with easier to manage short coats over their fluffier counterparts. They've super bone & confirmation, lovely rich coat colour & good deep eye colour. We are so pleased with this litter, bred to keep a bitch puppy, that we're keeping a dog pup aswell, to eventually work & compete alongside their mother.

Puppies are full of character, kind, calm, gentle & highly intelligent.  House training is off to a good start & they're responding so well to basic training, both indoors & in the outside environment, showing a good aptitude for fast learning. They're well socialised with young & older children & other pets/livestock.

Excellent pedigree, sired by the UK's top show winning dog ever, the dam is by an imported Hungarian dog with strong working lines & show champions, which go back, just a couple of generations to the famous Csövárberki Dömper Int/Hun/Hun Sh/Hun GrCh. Mum competes in Gundog Working Tests throughout the summer & works during the season on game shoots, she's also worked grouse on the Yorkshire moors the last couple of seasons. Admired & complimented by hunting judges & game keepers for her natural skills & steadiness.

Fully vaccinated, microchipped, wormed to date. They come with a five generation pedigree, 3kg food, five weeks free insurance, with a promotion for continuing the policy with Agria; training aids; a favourite toy & comfort cloth.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
