Waiting list-our Labrador retriever litter

County / Town: Durham

Description

We are pleased to announce that our lovely girl “Sadie” is confirmed to be in pup. Our puppies leave us kennel club registered with a copy of their pedigree, they will be vaccinated, microchipped, health checked and insured

They come with extensive puppy packs with lots of goodies, and of course lifetime support.

We spend a lot of time getting our puppies onto the right track, we begin crate training them, house training, socialising, and instilling basic manners and lots of confidence.
Families that have puppies from us often comment on how well mannered they are, and state that training was a breeze due to the time we put in here.

Often the puppies were settled in their crates on the first night at home, and having no accidents ! We offer training and boarding here to all of our babies, we are happy to keep puppies back longer if their new families already have plans, or board them back here if necessary.

Dam “Sadie” is my best working bitch, and best friend. She is a total delight and has been from the day we brought her home as a puppy, she is very biddable and enjoys training, while being extremely relaxed around the home and easy going.

Sire “Arthur” (Ronnie red of Cottershot) is very much the same, he is such a handsome dog with an incredible personality

Both dogs are fully DNA clear With up to date eye tests Low hip scores and elbows 0/0 Evidence of this is available to see on both the kennel club site and with paperwork documentation here.
We have lots of lovely comments and reviews, these can be seen on our social media platforms, and references can be provided.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
