Description

Best in Breed Puppies from Exceptional Lines

Update: 2 boys left

Our puppies come from top-quality breeding, with numerous field trial champions within the last five generations. From this litter you are buying a puppy from health-tested, working parents to give you assurance of a healthy and good natured puppy.

About Narla

Narla is first and foremost our beloved family dog—gentle, calm, and endlessly patient. She's also a remarkable working dog, excelling on the retrieving field with natural talent and drive. From day one, she stood out as something special—a true gem with an instinctive ability that made training feel effortless.

About Mitch

Mitch is a standout in both character and ability. A top performer at his owner's gundog training school, he’s a confident, dependable dog who works regularly throughout the shooting season. Like Narla, he has a calm temperament, is highly biddable, and a joy to be around.

The Environment

We’re a family of five with young children (our youngest is just 16 months), so the puppies will be well-socialised with both kids and dogs. Our household includes two other dogs, and extended family dogs visit often, providing the pups with a rich, social environment from the very start. Mitch is also a cherished family pet in a home with two children.

This is Narla and Mitch’s second litter together—their first, born in October 2023, produced healthy, happy pups now thriving in loving homes. The success of that pairing made a second litter an easy decision.

These puppies will suit a variety of homes—families, couples, active households, working roles in the field, or even as therapy companions.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
