Duke is a lovely example of the breed, a lovely shade of red and weighing in around 34/35kg he certainly has enough substance.
I bred Duke who initially went to a friend (gamekeepers partner) but due to a change in circumstances last year they had to really down dog.
So he came back to me to build on his training and to get him some more experience picking up as part of a team.
He done about 30-40 days this season on big commercial shoots picking up in a team of labs and springers. He is quiet and has a lovely soft mouth.
Great game finding ability and really stylish for a big lab to watch hunt.
Been shot over too and done some pigeon flighting
He heels nicely on and off lead, has some nice foundations established but does need polishing off.
He is a super keen retriever and would be a fantastic project for someone wanting to work towards some working tests this year with the aim of working next season.
He’s a soft dog who is a little fearful of men- for this reason I would only like him to go to a lady handler. Happy to elaborate on this and he’s fine with men once he gets to know them but he’s much more comfortable with women.
