Impressive Springer dog with an excellent pedigree behind him.
He's home bred and was kept back to bring on always with the intention of selling him part trained at a later date. Thus no quirks or hangups. He has been well socialised as a pup with trips into town etc. and has had a lot of individual time spent with him in general. He's good with other dogs, horses, cats. He's clean and quiet in the kennel and switches off nicely with me in the house too. Physically, he's well put together with no history of any health problems in his line.
He's mentally sharp with a lot of natural ability and thrives off training. He has a solid foundation on dummies - walking on and off the lead to heal, working alone and in company, marked/memory/blind retrieves, stops on the whistle on a retrieve and handles back or left/right onto a different dummy and sits to a thrown dummy while hunting. Importantly, he brings the dummy back to hand calmly. I've never heard him make any noise while training. He's hunted in a variety of cover and isn't shy of bramble.
He's been on a couple of training days on game where he's sat to the flush, but he needs more of this to reach his full potential. He's been out beating this season, but mainly walked to heel and hunted in an area where there was scent, but no game. He'll be perfect to play about with over the summer ready for this coming shooting season.
