FTAW x FTAW Fully Health Tested Parents ESS Pup

County / Town: South Yorkshire

Description

2 Pups have come available out of Rangemaster Woodlark Del Chipindor x Rhanna Refuge of Chipindor. Pedigrees and Health testing of both parents can be seen here: https://www.chipindor.co.uk/planned-litters

We kept  4 back from a litter of 9 and the time has come to start thinning out my selection of pups.

Born 10/08/2024 making them 10 week as of 19/10/2024

Docked, Vaccinated, Wormed and KC registered with all paperwork received.

We have completed some basic training with them and they are coming on a treat.

Recall, Sit, Attention to Name, Hunting, Retrieving, Heel position, Settle in crate, Toilet training, Appropriate socialisation.

Hank - Chipindor Cheddar, Dog (Now reserved)

Is a very cuddly pup and wants to be with you all the time. Loves to get his head down seeking treats. He is picking up items and bringing them back to me. We aren't in a rush to take the item off him just yet so just giving lots of fuss when he's holding the item. Lots of food drive which we are using at the minute as a reward in training. Makes training easy when going to new places and adding bigger distractions.

Teddy - Chipindor Choc, Dog

Is a very bold pup and loves to explore and get into mischief. Also showing signs of being a strong hunting dog getting his head down and seeking treats. Not as cuddly as Hank but still loves to be around humans and very eager to please.

Both pups are very smart and biddable and i don't see why they shouldn't make potential trialing and/or working dogs.

Howie and Izzy large springers so I suspect Hank and Teddy will both be a good size.

Howie has produced FTAW spaniels all ready and we have high hopes for this litter competing when the time comes.

Izzy is a fearless hunting bitch and has an incredible nose with great marking ability.

Howie is a very stylish methodical hunting dog with good gun sense and an incredible nose proven when pulling of some ridiculous retrieves on runners in trials.

I would say Hank takes more after his dad and Teddy takes more after his mum but time will tell.

They will suit a handler that is patient and one that understands how to nurture their natural abilities without squashing their drive.

Im happy to keep them on for a short period of time and continue their training.

Please call me to discuss further, Demonstration of both parents working can be given.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
