Description

This is Mistral's (Sealpin Mistrals of Hartrigge) final litter and her second litter to Tank (Kentwone The Scientist). We were so thrilled with their pups last year that we couldn't not repeat it for her final litter. A true end of an era. We have 1 L&W girl and 2 B&W girls available from this litter.

Mistral is Ben's original Springer and no other dog will ever come close to her. She is used throughout the shooting season whether in the beating line, picking up or on the peg. Good hunter, strong nose and responsive to command, with 12 FT CH in her pedigree to her Great-Great-Great Grandparents. She has appeared in The Crown on Netflix as well as ad campaigns for Hackett alongside Jenson Button and campaigns for Lovat Mill (pictured). Missy is also the star of all our demonstrations, performing at The Scone Game Fair, The Highland show and countless corporate demos. She is the perfect Springer, calm and affectionate at home but can also be relied upon for any job.

Tank, the sire, is a true old-fashioned style springer, with a solid square head and very muscular. Weighing in at 28kgs, he is true gentle giant. He has 18 FT CH in his pedigree but works 30+ days every season in the beating line. He is a complete gentleman, incredibly calm and placcid but can turn his hand (paw?) to a day's working no problem.

Their pups from last year have gone to working homes as well as family homes as pets and have settled exceptionally well in both. Pups will be vaccinated, KC registered and microchipped upon collection. First vaccinations on 5th June 2025.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
