Description

Meet Ludo.  There is NO other show cocker stud in the UK (other than Mungo who I also own who he isn’t related to) tested to these standards and with clear / great results.

If you priority is a healthy, saleable litter, he’s the stud you’re looking for.  And he’s gorgeous! And he has the BEST temperament.

Ludo, a proven golden pedigree, English (he has no imports in his lines), pure bred SHOW cocker spaniel. He comes from pure show lines (pics of his parents attached). Ludo only carries golden. I can give you an idea of colour of the litter based on your girl.

His KC name is: Rockllocers Concho

Happy to book in the diary, but if possible, I much prefer short notice bookings.

Such a STUNNING boy with an OUTSTANDING temperament. Very, very affectionate and always happy. Everyone (humans and dogs) love him.

HEALTH TESTS

Ludo is health tested to - and above - what the Kennel Club state a cocker spaniel should be tested for (both 'good' practice and 'best ' practice) namely:

✔️ DNA test result to confirm he is prcd-PRA clear
✔️ DNA test result to confirm he is FN clear
✔️ DNA test result to confirm he is AMS clear
✔️ DNA test result to confirm he is AON clear
✔️ DNA test result to confirm he is PP clear
✔️ Annual BVA / KC eye exam which confirms clear of all tested hereditary eye diseases (including PRA and HC) performed September 2024 and 2025.
✔️ Gonioscopy (PLA) - Grade 0 (the best) which he was tested for in 2024 (next due 09/27).
✔️ Hip score: 4:6 = 10 / 106 (within the median)
✔️ Elbow grade: 0:0 = 0 /3 (the best)

There are only 2 show cockers studs in the UK health tested to this exceptional standards - and I own them both (Ludo and Mungo).

I only use reliable KC approved labaratories, so these results can be easily seen by EVERYONE (including puppy buyers) on the Kennel Club website.

I have a lot of experience and knowledge so can help with selling your litter and picking buyers and I one the VERY few stud owners who is:

✔️ A Kennel Club Assured Breeder of show cocker spaniels and Stud Dog Handler
and
✔️Awarded a 5 star & Low Risk Animal Welfare Licence from Wiltshire Council.
✔️ I assess and foster spaniels for a well known dog charity.

Ludo is our FAMILY DOG and lives IN OUR HOME (we are not a kennel) with my other three (female) spaniels and our other stud dog Mungo (who he is not related to).

If you would like to meet him via Zoom and ask any questions then please get in touch.

PRICE

He is £350 which can include cytology to make sure timings are right and upto 3 matings - and a free return in the unlikely event of no pregnancy.
I will provide you with a Kennel Club Assured Breeder stud contract, pedigree paperwork and paper copies of all his health tests.

I will also give you a sheet with advice such as:
- selling your including pricing
- screening and choosing buyers
- feeding a pregnant dam
- how to effectively liaise with the KC and how to register the litter and what you need to know beforehand

Have also attached videos of him and my other show cockers (and you can find more pics on their Insta or FB page (where I can also put details of your litter):

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
