We live on a large farm in North Dorset and we occasionally breed from our health tested gundogs. Our gundogs are never kennelled and they are very much loved members of the family. When we breed, the health, temperament and working ability of the progeny are our priorities.

The sire has been tested clear of 271 canine inherited genetic diseases by Wisdom Panel which is a Kennel Club approved DNA testing laboratory. The most relevant clear tests are listed above.

The puppies are hereditary clear of AMS, FN, prcd-PRA and they will never be clinically affected by any of the other inherited diseases which either the sire or the dam have been tested clear of including AON, DM, EIC, PFK, PP, RD/OSD and XDH-MOCOS.

We own both the sire, Tom, and the dam, Millie, and they absolutely adore each other.

Tom is a small, compact, sturdy and stylish dog weighing 11.5kgs.

Tom has a kind temperament. He is fast with a natural hunting pattern and he is fearless in cover. He is soft mouthed and a keen retriever from both land and water.

Millie is also a small, compact and stylish dog weighing 10kgs.

Millie has a sweet biddable temperament and she is proving to be an extremely attentive mother to her third litter of puppies. Millie is soft mouthed, has an excellent nose and she will go through any cover and retrieve game from land and water.

Both Tom and Millie work several days a week during the shooting season on two commercial shoots.

Puppies from Millie's first two litters have won Spaniel working tests, scent work trials and agility competitions as well as been trained for search and rescue.

We are providing appropriate socialisation for the puppies and we have started their toilet training.

We regularly worm, flea and tick treat all our gundogs. Millie was wormed daily with Panacur 10% Oral Suspension from forty days post mating continuously to two days post whelping to ensure that the puppies were born with no/minimal worm burden.

The puppies have been legally docked and dew clawed by our vet. The puppies will still have two thirds of their adult tail length.

The puppies are being regularly wormed and they have been flea treated. They are now eight weeks old and ready to go to their forever homes.

The puppies are suitable for active homes with previous experience of working type Cocker Spaniels or working/trialling/agility homes.

If you are interested in providing a forever home for one of these puppies, please provide brief details of the home you can offer including the following details: your experience with working type Cocker Spaniels, whether you are offering an active home or a working/trialling/agility home, where in the county you live including details of your property/garden and of how long the puppy/adult dog will be left alone on a regular basis.

The puppies have been vet checked and microchipped and they will be homed with:-

  • their Kennel Club registration and microchipping documents;
  • a comprehensive Puppy Sales Contract;
  • their docking veterinary certificate;
  • a copy of the vet health check report/details of the vet who carries out the health check;
  • five weeks free insurance;
  • a worming and flea treatment record; and
  • complimentary premium puppy food and a feeding guide.

Our Puppy Sales Contract allows the new owners at least forty eight hours after collection to take the puppy to their own registered vet and to return it to us for a full refund of the purchase price paid if their vet confirms in writing any health defect with the puppy.

The puppies can be viewed with Millie and Tom.

We currently have one black dog puppy available. He has a small amount of white on his chest and he is shown in the photographs.

We have set up a WhatsApp group for the future owners of the puppies so that we can send regular photographs, videos and updates on the puppies prior to them going to their forever homes and so that their new owners can keep in touch with each other and with us thereafter.

Thank you for taking the time to read our advertisement and please contact us if you have any questions.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
