🌟 1 BITCH AND 1 DOG AVAILABLE 🌟

Gamekeeper Bred Working Cocker Spaniel Puppies

3 girls and 1 boy available. Red/lemon

We have a lovely litter of traditional, smaller-type Working Cocker Spaniel puppies, bred from our own much-loved working dogs.

Both parents are KC registered.

They are owned by us and work regularly on our own pheasant shoot throughout the shooting season. Mum is a steady beating-line dog, while Dad is an enthusiastic member of the picking-up team. Both have lovely temperaments, natural ability and a willingness to please.

They are also much-loved family pets, with affectionate natures and the ability to be loyal companions as well as capable working dogs. The puppies come from strong working lines and are expected to inherit plenty of drive, intelligence and natural instinct.

Working or genuinely very active homes only, please.

These puppies have been bred from dogs with a genuine working background, so we expect them to need plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, training and an appropriate outlet for their instincts. We are keen to avoid homes underestimating their needs.

Ideally, they will go to working homes, whether for beating, picking up or other gundog work. We will also consider genuinely suitable, very active homes with the experience, time and commitment to provide the right lifestyle.

Above all, we want them to be loved family pets, whether they work in the shooting field or not.

Puppy information

• Both parents are KC registered, however puppies will not be registered.

• Both parents are owned by us and available to meet.

• Bred from proven working lines.

• Traditional, smaller-type Working Cockers.

• Will be wormed every 2 weeks until leaving.

• Legally tail docked by a veterinary surgeon, with certificates provided.

• Bred and raised in a genuine gamekeeping environment.

No time wasters or picture collectors, Please.

Only enquire if you have already discussed the decision with your partner or family, and are in a position to commit to bringing one home.

Please don't enquire simply to collect photos, ask endless questions out of curiosity, or if you haven't yet decided whether the time is right for a puppy.

We put a great deal of time, care and effort into our dogs and their puppies, and would really appreciate the same consideration from prospective owners.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
