Description

Tara & Oak have produced 10 outstanding puppies and we have 3 boys & 1 girl looking for their forever homes.
Tara is a special girl to us, she was our first golden retriever and the one who made us want to add more to our team of gundogs! She is extremely talented, she lives to please people and is very affectionate. She is mainly used for picking up where she remains level headed and steady during busy drives and once told to hunt she is hard hunting and fast. She retrieves all feather & fur but her strongest area in the field is picking up on grouse. She is versatile and can be used for beating or as a peg dog. At home she has a great off switch and enjoys beach walks and training sessions. Her health tests and Kc name are; TYDDYNBROOKS DRAGON GIRL hips 2/2, elbows 0, eyes unaffected, gonio 0 and DNA clear ICT, PRA1 & PRA2.
Oak is a field trial award winner owned by lindowmoor gundogs, we chose oak first and foremost because his ability working and temperament would best match Tara, he’s a striking looking dog with a great coat and confirmation, our aim is to produce exceptional working dogs with trainability to suit all walks of life. His health tests and kc name are; THINK TWICE VIKING hips 3/5, elbows 0, eyes unaffected, gonio 1 and DNA clear PRA1 & PRA2. ICT carrier. *please note a carrier mated with a clear dog cannot produce affected offspring*

The pups are reared inside and out, they spend a lot of time in our busy household getting used to every day life and noise alongside our 2 children and other dogs, before returning to their sleeping quarters for food and rest. They are routinely wormed and flead using age appropriate products. When they are ready for their new homes they will leave with a puppy pack containing food which they are weaned onto, a scented blanket and other bits to help them settle into their new homes. They will be vet health checked and come with a certificate, this will be done when they receive their microchip and 1st vaccination. Please get in contact if you would like any more information or details- they are now available for viewings

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
