KC Registered Fox Red Labradors

County / Town: Oxfordshire

Description

**All pups sold** All pups are now sold with a waiting list. Litter of 8 Fox Red Labrador puppies, 5 girls and 3 boys. They are available to view now and will be ready for their forever homes on 18th November, these puppies come from working lines so would suit an active home.

My bitch, Nala Faultless Scarlet Dawn is a beautiful dark Fox Red Lab with a lovely temperament. She comes from working lines and loves nothing more than a day picking up or on the peg, she has high drive and has proved a pleasure to train. Nala is also very happy out on a run or long walk with our spaniel or at home curled up in front of the fire! Her hip and elbow scores are better than breed average; elbows: 0/0 and hips: 4/6. The inbreeding coefficient with the sire was also better than breed average at 5.6%.

The dog, Hugo Kenynten Harvest Walk is a handsome Fox Red Lab with a great temperament from working lines with 17 Field Trial Champions in his pedigree, including his sire FT CH Arcklebear Caribou. He is fully health tested with clear eye and genetic tests so all pups will be unaffected, he also has perfect scores for elbows: 0/0 and hips: 0/0.

I am a vet, so the pups have had a great start and will come KC registered, microchipped, wormed at 3, 5 and 7 weeks and having had their first vaccination DHP and Lepto. Each puppy will also come with a bag of Royal Canin puppy food and a starter pack with helpful information.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
