Description

Our wonderful bitch has had a litter of 9 black lab puppies to our own stud dog.
She had 4 bitches and 5 dogs. 1 bitch & 1 Dogs available
Born; 07.04.25

The puppies will be fully health checked by the vet, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and wormed. They will have a bag of their puppy food, a blanket that smells like here in their puppy pack before leaving to go to their new home.

The puppies are being raised in a loving home environment by a Vet nurse, dog trainer, behaviourist and her family.

Homes are really important, please only contact if you are serious. We want to find people who are going to cherish these puppies into adulthood and elderly.

Bitch; The mother of these puppies is our picking up dog. She incredibly biddable, soft natured, loyal and great with children. She is a natural game finding dog and works really well in the field. She is very much a pet at home, very laid back, has got a great off switch and nothing phases her, but soon as she is in the field the switch is on. The kind of loyal lab that never needs a lead, just follows you around and lays next to you.

Dog; The father of these puppies is also our picking up dog. He is also very loyal, level headed, biddable, soft natured dog, you wouldn't know he was entire, he isn't bolshy at all. Again the kind of dog who never needs a lead, first day out picking up sat there off the lead during the drive and didn't move an inch even with game falling and hares bolting past and hasn't needed a lead since. Extremely hard hunting, will go through any cover to find game. Again he has got a great off switch and is great with children very laid back at home.

Both mother and father are my working picking up dogs and run with a pack of 13 dogs, but they are also very much a loved family pet on the off season.

Father; Thistlerun White river. Fully DNA tested (CNM, EIC, HNPK, prcd-PRA, SD2, MCD, STGD, D-locus, D1 variant; Clear for all) And Clear up to date BVA eye test.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
