Description

Dam is Macey who is our yellow working Labrador. She is a valuable member of our picking up team. She works happily and efficiently throughout the day and tackles any cover with ease. She is calm and quiet through busy drives and comes alive when needed. She is athletic and is well build with a good frame. She enjoys her job and is a pleasure to be around. Macey has a gentle and quiet disposition. Macey has Hip scores of 3/4 and elbows of 0:0

Sire is Tag, our young black stud dog. Tag will start his competition career this season. He has been a pleasure to train and is a very quick and keen learner. He has drive and bundles of style but a calm mature head on young shoulders. He has done a season of picking up, walked up shoot days and is proving to be an excellent gamefinder. Tag has a hip score of 5/5 and an elbow score of 0:0

Both parents are clear for all 7 recommended KC DNA test for labradors (HNPK MCD, EIC, PRA, SD2, STGD & CNM) They also both have up to date clear eye test.

Pups will be KC registered, microchipped and given their first vaccination. They are wormed every 2 weeks from birth with panacur and will be well socialised with adults and children. Buyers will be given comprehensive puppy pick with all paperwork regarding parents health tests and a supply of puppy food. Advice at hand for every stage before and after purchase from ourselves with years of experience in breeding and training.

Proving to be bold and confident, with sweet temperaments. Will make great additions to any family, wether you are looking to work, compete or are an active pet home.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.

🧠 Final Thought

Buying a gun dog is your responsibility. Do your homework on both the breed and the breeder. Make sure your decision is informed, confident, and in the best interest of the dog.
