Welcome to GunDogsDirect

Description

Available for reservation are a cracking litter of Fox Red Labrador puppies. We have both male and female puppies in the litter.

If you are looking for something special, then you have found it! These dudes are not just any old Lab pups!

Both mother and father are gundogs and have worked on both commercial and farm shoots. Both are exceptional Labradors, with proven temperament and trainability, as have their previous progeny.

Both are health tested, including eyes, DNA, hips and elbows and have both produced puppies before with success. We have a previous daughter that can also be met. They have previously produced an array of successfully trained dogs, including Gundogs, Guide Dogs, Medical Detection Dogs, Scentwork Dogs, Assistance Dogs and active family pets showing their versatility and trainability. Puppies will be KC registered and both parents are here to meet.

We raise our litters using a host of socialisation protocols, ensuring they get off to the very best starts. We are professional trainers, behaviourists and five star licensed breeders, and as such we are passionate about the breed, and committed to ensuring our puppies are resilient and ready for the wider world.

We are taking reservations for the litter who are ready to view from five weeks of age.

They can leave us from eight weeks of age, and will go to their new homes with:

4 weeks insurance

Microchip

First vaccine

Vet Check

Food

Scented blanket & Chew Treats

Full care package

KC registration

Online puppy training course

Options for continued training & behaviour support

We can hold puppies longer than the 8 week mark and we have part training options available if you would like your puppy trained to a specific level.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
