Description

So pleased to announce the safe arrival of Ferns beautiful working Labrador pups. We have 3 girls and 4 boys available to reserve. These pups are going to be an excellent addition to any working or active family home.
Little bit about fern, she is my working dog of a lifetime. I couldn’t ask for a better dog to have in my team and my family home. She is part of the picking up team doing 70+ days a season on large commercial shoots covering a variety of different grounds. Fern can also come into the beating line without stepping a foot wrong or will happily sit steady on a peg for the day. For anyone that knows us or our dogs they can vouch for everything I say with this dog. If there is game to be found I can guarantee this dog will find it. From day 1 she has been an absolute delight to train, taking everything in her stride and doesn’t need telling twice to do anything. Fern comes from a very good line of working dogs who have even had the privilege of picking up for the royal family on the estate where we got Fern from.
The sire for these pups, Sam, is in my personal opinion one of the best looking labradors I have ever met. Extremely dark Red with no White on his coat which he has passed down to a few of the pups available. Sam is fully health tested with perfect results and 0/0 hips & elbows. Complementing the health tests is his amazing temperament, trainability and stunning looks making him all round perfection! He has plenty of drive out on the field as well.
All of the pups are raised in our home environment, being around children, household noises and other dogs. We aim to give the pups the best possible start in life and feel the first 8 weeks are very important to that. They will all be KC registered, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked before leaving for their new homes. All of them leave us with a 4kg bag of puppy food which they will have been weaned on to, a pureflax puppy oil which can be introduced to their diet. Along with all the relevant paperwork for them.
I will be accepting viewings once the pups are 4 weeks old and are successfully up moving around and have more of a personality. These will be ideal working dogs or equally will do as well in an active family home.
A £200 none refundable deposit will secure the pup of your choosing to which you will receive regular updates and photos of them.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
