Description
A healthy litter of foxred Labrador puppies
Proud to announce we continue to welcome viewings by appointment only. We are based on the outskirt of The Yorkshire Dales. Great care and supervision is and will be taken while meeting and greeting our dogs in our little hamlet.
Swalereeth Dam- Mum is homebred and I have had her mother, grandmother, great grandmother, grandad, aunties etc. A very exciting litter, as not only is mum 0/0 hips, 0 elbows and hereditary clear PRA SD2 EIC HNPK and CNM. Her inbreed coefficient is 0% very rare to find.
Mum is a part of my team, picking up throughout the shooting season, as well as being like her fellow friends, a family dog when not shooting. She is a very sweet and kind bitch. In the field she is fast and stylish with a good hunting nose.
Cottershot Sire-Dad is a stunning dog showing great potential and ability in shooting field and work throughout the season. He is of lovely nature. A lovely bold dog. Hips 4/6. Elbows 0, BVA clear 2026, PRA CNM EIC SD2 HNPK MCD STDG DM HUU clear
There are plenty of FTCH and FTW in their pedigree. These puppies would make an ideal family and/shooting companion or suit someone who has an active outdoor lifestyle.
The puppies are socialised in a busy family environment (will be used to plenty of hustle and bustle) with children, other dogs and cats. The greatest care has been taken in to account when planning and bringing up this litter to breed from good strong health tested bloodlines and to maintain The Kennel Club’s recommended breeding standards and recommendations.
Puppies will be ready 22nd July at 8 weeks and come with the following;
KC Registration
Sales Contract and information including parents details/photos.
5 weeks insurance

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs
Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.
- Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
- Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
-
Verify all paperwork:
- Kennel Club (KC) registration number
- Date of birth
- Health screening results
-
Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
- Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
- Can I see where they were bred and raised?
- How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
- Was the birth natural or via C-section?
- Are there any known health issues?
- Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
- Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
- If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
- Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
- Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
- Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
- You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
- Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
- Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
- Is the whelping pen clean?
- Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
- The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
- Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
- Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
- Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
