Description

Bringing new blood into our kennels we've been very lucky and proud to introduce Harry, known at home as 'happy Harry'.

He's been a pleasure to have since the day we brought him home at 8 weeks old. Totally unrelated to our other stud dogs, with an impeccable pedigree to compliment there progeny being FTCH x OFTAW bred, however having the balance of been an excellent working dog but also THE best companion. He has the most amazing temperament, with a kind nature and off switch when at home and out & about.
We feel he'll compliment bitches not only for working but also to produce well rounded companions too.

Harry is apart of my picking up team, very level headed young dog and a fantastic game finder and hunting style. We complete over 100 days a season on grouse, partridge & pheasant and is already an asset to my team. He's everything I look for in a dog. He's a strong dog, with a lovely broad head. And a lovely dark red colour- photos don't do him justice. Last weighed at 31kg

FULLY HEALTH TESTED;

BVA Eye test CLEAR (May 26) tested annually

0/0 Hips 0 elbows

DNA tested CLEAR for PRA-prcd, SD2, CNM, EIC, HNPK, STGD & MCD 🧬

He has fantastic EBV's to complement lines, proven at stud, with his first litters being born of 7 & 12! And 100% success rate with bitches scanning in-pup to date.
He's excellent with maiden/difficult bitches too and can assist if needed, stud fee to be paid on first tie/mating, and includes 2 covers and free return if no puppies.
You'll receive a receipt, copy of his pedigree & photo of him.

We're very experienced stud owners, happy to advise on anything/answer any questions. For more info/vids and pics on us and the dogs visit our website or socials (Fosterwold Gundogs)

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
