Description

We have one last boy available from Luca’s litter. He is our pick of the litter and we are looking for the very best home for him. If you feel you can offer him an active, loving home please get in touch.

The photos of the adult liver bitch is mum, and the adult fawn dog is dad. Lot more photos and videos available upon request.

Puppies have been raised on Nutriment raw formula and goats milk and are strong solid pups. I believe this last male pup will make an excellent working dog.

We are so proud and excited to announce our beautiful Braque Du Bourbonnais, Luca, has whelped a stunning litter of 8 puppies following a successful mating with the very handsome Ziggy - another exceptional example of the breed.
Both parents are health tested for hips, and sire for elbows, with excellent scores and both have wonderful temperaments. Grandsire of the litter was a very successful boar hunter over in France.

Puppies have been raised on Nutriment Raw Formula and goats milk and are strong solid pups.

Braque Du Bourbonnais are a rare breed here in the UK with only approximately 170 in the country. As such, the breed is not yet recognised by the UK Kennel Club however they are by the FCI (Europe) and are very popular on the continent and in the U.S.A.
Both parents and puppies are registered with the Irish Kennel Club which affords the same recognition and pedigree recording as the UK KC.

The Braque Du Bourbonnais is a French pointer from the hunt/point/retrieve gundog group, originating from the Bourbonnais region of France. The breed was very nearly wiped out following the Second World War but thanks to two dedicated breeders over in France, the breed was revived during the 1970’s.

We are looking for only the very best homes for this last pup who will come with a full contract and a lifetime of support.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
