Born 1st August 2026 and ready for collection from 26th September.
From the litter, 5 dogs and 3 bitches are already reserved. Puppies are being reserved by sex and colour, with individual puppy selection taking place later. Allocations/Picking order within each sex and colour will be done at or close to 8 weeks.

Dam: Merakbeas Galloway Pippin (Finch)
Finch is a very fast, stylish, tall and athletic bitch with a lovely soft mouth. She is completely silent in her work, very biddable and has a superb temperament. Really hard and fast hunter, looks really flashy both in rushes and woodland cover. She is out of Lee Coopers Breckmarsh lines and holds the fast hard hunting style.
Away from work she is exceptionally affectionate and very easy to live with. She likes nothing more than standing with her paws on your hip having a fuss.
This coming season will be Finch’s first season trialling. She was shot over last season, and we will be getting her fit again and giving her some more experience being shot over before entering her into field trials.

Sire: ARCTAURID Redshank (Merlin)
Merlin is a stronger, more powerful dog with excellent stamina, drive and work ethic. He is a very quick learner, has a real keenness to please and also has a lovely soft mouth.
I bred Merlin myself, and a big part of choosing him for Finch was wanting to bring some of his mother Fern into these pups. Fern has an exceptionally strong work ethic and keenness to please, as well as fantastic game sense. She is a very smart and naturally capable bitch.
The aim of the mating was to combine Finch’s speed, style and athleticism with the strength, stamina, intelligence and natural game sense behind Merlin. Fern was mated to the dog FTCh Tarncrag Razzamataz who came 4th at the champs last year, and goes back to traditional cocker lines including being sired from champs winner FTCh Killtonbeck Rollo.

The puppies
All puppies are KC registered and have been legally docked by our vet with veterinary docking certificates, with rear dew claws removed.
Before leaving they will be:
• Wormed at 2, 5 and 8 weeks
• Vet checked, with a written note from the vet
• Microchipped
• Reared on raw food
• Regularly handled and socialised around other dogs, children and normal everyday life
We would particularly like to see them go to working, trialling or active homes, with finding the right home for each puppy being the priority.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs
Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.
- Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
- Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.

Verify all paperwork:
- Kennel Club (KC) registration number
- Date of birth
- Health screening results

Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
- Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
- Can I see where they were bred and raised?
- How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
- Was the birth natural or via C-section?
- Are there any known health issues?
- Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
- Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
- If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
- Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
- Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
- Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
- You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
- Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
- Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
- Is the whelping pen clean?
- Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
- The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
- Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
- Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
- Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
