Description
This is an extremely hard and sad sale and Jet won’t be going to just any home, I am in absolutely no rush as I want to ensure the home is 100% correct for him.
Jet is an exceptional dog with plenty of experience, he has been beating, picking up, shot over, been on rabbits once, dogged in. Though he’s been picking up he would suit a beating home more as this is where he truly thrives and will sit/stop to flush, he’s on the whistle and quarters lovely. He will pick up but being completely honest he will let out noise throughout the drive in forms of squeaks and little cries due to being impatient, he’s completely different whilst beating as he’s hunting away and going a lot more, this is why I say a beating home will suit him a lot more unless you don’t mind noise.
The reason for moving Jet on is due to the noise when out picking up, I have young dogs coming through and this is not something I want passing through as none of my other dogs make a sound. I unfortunately do not have the time to go out beating with him as I have a team of picking up dogs and I’m out a few times a week with them. Jet is a really lovely and well trained dog and is absolutely wasted if he was to stay with me and wouldn’t be at his full potential and happiest if he wasn’t out in the beating line.
Jet has a temperament of pure gold and not a nasty bone in his body, loves a good cuddle and has manners to match. He is currently kennelled with another dog and is absolutely fine, he travels perfectly and mixes with other dogs great as well. He is also crate trained and has been in the house before but would need a refresher if wanting to fully change to house dog as he has been in the kennel a while now.
Any more information please contact me, happy to answer anything else and provide videos on request. Please no time wasters or photo collectors this is an extremely hard and sad sale as it is.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs
Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.
- Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
- Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
-
Verify all paperwork:
- Kennel Club (KC) registration number
- Date of birth
- Health screening results
-
Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
- Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
- Can I see where they were bred and raised?
- How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
- Was the birth natural or via C-section?
- Are there any known health issues?
- Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
- Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
- If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
- Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
- Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
- Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
- You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
- Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
- Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
- Is the whelping pen clean?
- Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
- The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
- Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
- Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
- Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
