Description

Super excited to announce the confirmed pregnancy of Lyla. Lyla is an incredible working dog as well as a family pet. She is a very hard hunting dog with one hell of a game finding nose. Lyla is my go to dog for runners while we are out picking up, she is fast and won’t give up until she comes back with something. Even though she is a great working dog, she is also our much loved family pet. Living in the house along side my other dogs and my little boy. The Sire of the pups is a big strong dog who has plenty of bone but still agile enough to be a key member of a picking up team. He is also one of my dogs on my picking up team, he’s very steady and will happily sit a full drive and wait to be told he can go off hunting. We pick up on a large commercial shoot where they all pick a variety of game.
All of the puppies will be raised in my home so they are well use to the normal household activities and noises. They will be well socialised with children and will be handled and played with daily. They will all be wormed at 2,5 & 8 weeks as well as being vaccinated and microchipped before they leave for their new homes. Both parents can be seen with the pups. Expecting the puppies to be due around the 25th of April. A £200 none refundable deposit is required to secure the puppy of your choosing. If you have any more questions please feel free to get in contact.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
