ONLY 1 BLACK DOG & 1 BLACK BITCH REMAINING — final availability from this litter.

Fully health tested, KC registered, and bred from proven working lines.

This is not a generic litter.

These puppies are bred from proven, working parents with exceptional temperaments, combining a calm, trainable nature with genuine field ability.

If you’re looking for a Labrador that is:

  • Easy to live with in the home
  • Highly trainable and biddable
  • Capable in the field or working environment

…this is exactly what this breeding was designed to produce.

🧠 WHY THIS LITTER STANDS OUT

  • Both parents are actively worked and picked up multiple times a week
  • Bred with a clear focus on temperament first, then ability
  • Fully health tested – no compromises, no guesswork
  • Raised in a busy family home — not kennels

👉 The result: calm, confident puppies with real working potential

This is a carefully planned mating combining proven field performance with reliable, calm temperament.

🐾 THE DAM – THALASGAIR LADY OF THE GUN

  • Achieved 4th place in Novice Field Trial in first season

This is a genuine dual-purpose bitch — switches off at home, performs outside

  • DNA clear: EIC, HNPK, CNM, SD2, PRA
  • Strong trialling pedigree with multiple FTCh lines
  • Medium build, athletic, calm and affectionate
  • Natural drive without being sharp or hectic

🐶 THE PUPPIES

  • Calm, confident temperaments

Already showing an ability to settle and switch off in the home environment.

Raised from birth in a hands-on environment with consistent handling and exposure.

🎯 SUITABILITY

These puppies will suit:

  • Working homes (beating/picking up)
  • Those looking to progress into working tests or trials
  • Active homes wanting a steady, trainable Labrador with an off-switch

Not suited to: low-stimulation homes or buyers wanting a “hands-off” dog

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
