Glenn is a 6 year old medium built LW Springer dog , he has spent the past 4 seasons picking up with a mixed team of my dogs, he is currently kennelled with 2 other dogs whom he also travels with and walks with the full pack off season.
He is used mainly for marked retrieves of runners etc during a drive and sweeps with the pack after, he will sit perfectly steady and never needs a lead on, he will walk to heel off lead no bother. He's picked all manners of game on land and in water. He will jump in and out of shared vehicles, will jump fences on command. He has a nice soft delivery to hand on retrieves, makes no noise working. He’s not been trained to handle the original plan was to train him for trials but covid restrictions put pay to that so he was retained in the pack as a working dog, he’s been used at stud and mates bitches without any hassle. He’s tested clear for AMS, PRA and Fuco. He’s throwing biddable pups, nicely marked and of easy going temperament.
Originally brought up in the house but then kennelled so if needed would need re housetrained.
KC Registered his sire is IR FTCH Hollydrive Defoe and dam is by IR FTCH Tearsol Flash so he’s nicely bred. Microchipped and vaccinations not kept up to date .
Genuine reluctant sale due to a change in direction working dog wise.
Seeking: An active working home — ideally a rural kennel environment with regular work picking up or even re-trained as a beating/dogging in dog.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
- Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
- Can I see where they were bred and raised?
- How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
- Was the birth natural or via C-section?
- Are there any known health issues?
- Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
- Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
- If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
- Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
- Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
- Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
- You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
- Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
- Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
- Is the whelping pen clean?
- Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
- The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
- Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
- Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
- Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
