Miss Green is very heavily marked, with a solid liver head and face.
Miss Blue is a very pretty bitch with white blaze, patchy liver and spots/speckles appearing on her front legs etc.
Ethel (dam):- our 3rd generarion of this line. Picks up on moorland and low ground, excellent game finder with drive, a soft mouth, stamina and bidability. Hard hunting and cover smasher, as are her relatives we have owned and worked. Brilliant temperament with other dogs and children. Very good confirmation with straight legs and plenty of bone without being too leggy. Stands 19" at the shoulder and weighs 20kg, a traditional strong working bitch.
Ethel is the granddaughter of FTCH Samsir Babbler and our own legend, Oliver, who still worked aged 15 and died just before his 17th birthday.
Chipindor Chief at Rangemaster (sire):- also called Ollie, we wanted a fully health tested dog who matched Ethel on size, ability and temperament. He was recommended to us by several people who had his offspring and so we travelled 8 hours to Wales for the mating. He is the 4th generation for his owner, picks up 5-6 days a week taking on cover, has a soft mouth and kind temperament. He stands at approximately 18.5" at the shoulder and is a traditional strong springer.
Health testing.
Both Ethel and Ollie are:-
DNA clear for AMS, DAMS, Fuco, PFK, PRA (cord 1),
BVA eye tested clear (2026) and PLA Grade 1 (2026 tested and the lowest score now given under the new testing)
Elbows 0/0 for both
Hips 6/3 for Ethel
Hips 7/3 for Ollie
The puppies:-
All have now passed their 6 week vet health check, been microchipped, first vaccinations, been legally docked and regularly wormed.
The puppies will be exposed to household noises and children (ours are 5&6) and socialised with our other dogs. Basic puppy training of recall, sitting for food, toilet training and crate training will also be started.
A puppy pack to include information sheet, food, food voucher, scent blanket and chews/toys will be included.
Please note :- Ethel is currently undergoing the final stages of her KC registration through the unverified scheme. It is unlikely this will be completed and the puppies registered prior to the puppies leaving (and there are no guarantees the KC will approve it). However, if the puppies are then approved for registration through the usual route, the KC paperwork will then be provided FOC to any owner who requires it.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs
Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.
- Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
- Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.

Verify all paperwork:
- Kennel Club (KC) registration number
- Date of birth
- Health screening results

Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
- Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
- Can I see where they were bred and raised?
- How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
- Was the birth natural or via C-section?
- Are there any known health issues?
- Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
- Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?
- If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
- Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
- Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.
- Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
- You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
- Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
- Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.
- Is the whelping pen clean?
- Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
- The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.
- Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
- Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
- Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
